How much time do you spend in front of the computer in comparison to your TV ?
Who wins ? Computer or TV ?

I use my 4k 55" tv as a monitor? Does that count as both I have to be interactive. I don't understand how anyone can just sit and stare at a screen without being involved. When I try to watch a movie I usually last 5-10 minutes then I have to get up and find something to do. Made more stupid by the fact that my media server is at 773 movies right now not including tv series seasons. I haven't watched more than 1/4 of them. I just like to collect... The wife can sit there for hours staring at movies and stuff though. Server is mainly for her use.
*EDIT* Come to think of it my parents spend a ton of time watching tv as well. They say it watches them. Retired with nothing better to do. I don't know how they do it day in and day out. I guess I'm the odd one out in this family.

Same here, a media player in a small window in the corner of the screen to watch whatever while I work away. And I'm using that "work" term very loosely

You should try making a poll, see what sort of stats you end up with.

When I was younger, the tv won out, now older and wiser the computer wins out hands down...

I've watched about 4 hours of TV in the past 10 years, and they were all Rabbitborough shows. Computer for me.
We still use our TV for entertainment purposes. With the advent of digital TV, and 20+ free-to-air stations, there is often (but not always) something that takes our fancy.
Being an older CRT based TV that probably should have been retired several years ago, our TV needs a bit of help via a set top box, which not only takes care of digital TV reception and DVR functionality, but can play DVDs (our collection has grown somewhat over the years), and play Youtube, which Mrs Lisati uses for her fix of musc videos.
I resort to online stuff on my laptop when Mrs Lisati's choice of viewing doesn't take my fancy.

Do i need antivirus/firewall in linux?
Full disk backup (newer kernel -> suitable for newer PC): Clonezilla
User friendly full disk backup: Rescuezilla
Since I left Windows and started using Linux I never feel like punching out the computer any more, can't say the same for the TV as it regularly gets my blood boiling. The computer wins out easily here.
Cheers, yeti.
