menu fonts not readable / too bright / gray on gray

    Hi,

I've got a problem with QGIS and GIMP concerning the text- and background-colours of the menu fonts. Both are gray. So, it is not readable. See screenshot.
I've updated QGIS and it works. In contrast I would like to keep GIMP in my actual version (GIMP 2.8.22). Maybe someone could help, please?

Something is strange und I wonder if that cohere (is the same reason):
I can't take a screenshot, while the GIMP-menu is opened. Maybe I problem with the graphics adapter?

    GIMP 2.8.22

    Ubuntu 18.04.2
