We use a 32" Sony TV, one of the last CRT-based TVs I recall seeing in the shops. It's several years old, and has a now obsolete analogue tuner. but works well enough for us for now. The set-top box we use to allow it to receive digital TV is one by Panasonic, and has twin tuners, a HDD-based DVR, a DVD recorder/player, and a minimal number of net-friendly apps such as Youtube.

Yeah 4K will only benefit you if you have a 55 inch TV or higher. Watching 1080p content on your TV will look the same as 4K. If you are streaming, just set it to 1080p since you will save 75% of your bandwidth.

Those Vizio and TCL TV's are pretty amazing. They are not the best, but for 600 bucks I got my parents a 55 inch 4K Vizio P model and the contrasts, colors, response times are similar to a 1500 dollar Samsung. TCL also has very great picture for low prices. I would only go with LG for the OLED, but other than that the Vizio or TCL is a great choice. They are the best TV's under 1000 in my opinion.

A 32 inch JVC LCD TV. 3 Raspberry Pi units and 1 Chromecast device permanently reside alongside it. As the TV unit only has 3 HDMI ports it usually has 2 of the R-Pi units and the Chromecast device plugged in most of the time.

i got my dads old tube checker. it's got a wire that ya pull out to put on the metal part of a tube on top. tube checker is wood on the outside. must be least, older than 50 years old.

Todays tv-shows are so bad, almost only game shows and reality shows on every channel.

A 27" Insignia that I got from Best Buy back in 2011. I only use it to watch YouTube on my Chromecast and to watch old VHS tapes on my VCR.
