Impossible to install updates using 2G connection

Hi,

I am using my phone as a modem. My phone is capable of 2G only.

Right now I am using a different distro.

Problem is its impossible to install updates using the 2G connection.

It never finishes.

I got a Lubuntu 18.04 DVD ready if that is needed,

Any suggestions ? What is the best possible way out in my situation ?

what do you mean it never finishes? is it too slow?

you can download updates first using synaptic package manager, then trigger the offline install. or using apt: https://www.maketecheasier.com/updat...et-connection/

Do you have access to high(er) speed internet? You could do a off line update.

Yes it is too slow.

Problem is this is the only connection I got and I cant download updates by any means.

No I dont have access to high speed Internet. That is my main problem.

Using a 4G connection now. Problem solved.

I tried that but the option to mark the thread as solved is not available for Ubuntu Linux and OS Chat.

Problem was with openSUSE Leap 15.

I am using Lubuntu 18.04 now.

I had to reinstall the OS coz I made some modifications to the repo mirror which broke the OS.
