    16.04 upgrade to 18.04 issues

    My laptop: Dell Inspiron I5 7567 | Intel Core i5 |8GB RAM |GTX 1050 | Ubuntu -16.04 LTS

I'm wanting to upgrade or just do a new install, going from 16.04(MATE) to 18.04 (MATE). I have a nice 18.04 (MATE) live on a usb stick, it will boot but get no display in 'live' mode. Choosing the 'install' option gets me into a graphical environment,

but for reasons unknown- attempting to click to advance the install process fails.

I'm just going to upgrade rather than do a new install, but I suspect that I'll have display problems upon reboot, due to the GTX 1050's drivers(384.130).

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

Well, my worst fears did not materialize, upgrade completed, system rebooted and 18.04.2 is installed without any signs of trouble.
