No desktop with multiple screens

Hi,

I'm running Ubuntu 18.10 on my Laptop. At home I'm having two external monitors attached, so in total three monitors.
If I boot with my two monitors connected everything is ok and I'm seeing the login background on all three monitors. After login the desktop doesn't show I only see the purple background color on my internal and one external monitor, the second monitor is black, but seems to recognize an input signal.

Now it gets curious: If I login before connecting my monitors everything works fine and the desktop is shown on all three monitors.

I deleted my monitors.xml but nothing changed after reorganizing my monitors.

First of all, I would go with 18.04 which is a long term service release. Secondly: did you have the external monitors connected when you installed the system?

Due to my decision switching from Windows to Linux i reinstalled my system the problem is now gone.
