    Xubuntu - Spurious volumes

    Hi

Lately I have seen spurious volumes appear on my Xubuntu 18.04.2 LTS box.
None of which are mounted to anything and clicking on them only gives an error message "The given volume was not found". Each mount has a label, Some appears with label "Volume" others with label "4,1 KB Volume" (and only these two variants). Right now there are 9 of them. My xubuntru box is powered at all time normally but rebooting does not fix the issue even though the existing spurious volumes are gone after a reboot, but they then reappears after some time, one by one-

The icon that shows up has the USB symbol on it, but I have tried to remove all USB devices for a period without results, they still appears. Connecting an known USB disk/stick mounts and opens as normal.

You are probably not alone. A post a day ago reported the same on their Xubuntu 18.04.2 - that user had the 4,1 kB Volume appearing. No one as yet has offered an explanation. I have that same Xubuntu 18.04.2 installed, but haven't seen this happen yet.
