Dragon Age: Origins Camera Movement Randomly Goes Insane

Ubuntu 18.10 64 bit. I'm playing Dragon Age: Origins with Proton in Steam. The game looks and runs great, except randomly my camera movement just goes insane. There will be a second delay before camera movements respond, and then when they do the camera is hyper sensitive and uncontrollable.

Playing in windowed mode "seems" to fix it, but this game has no option for borderless fullscreen, only windowed and regular fullscreen, and I'd really rather play it in normal fullscreen mode.

Using an older, non-Beta version of Proton fixed the problem.
