    Angry usb stick - inode/x-corrupted

    Hi !

I connected an USB stick (used in windows) to my Ubuntu,
    - copied one folder (300 MB) to Ubuntu (in LXTerminal)
    - waited about 2 seconds
    - clicked on throw out USB stick (in LXTerminal)
    - get an message something about "block missing",
    - i again connected the USB stick to Ubuntu because the message worried me
    - now 3 folders on the USB stick have following status (in LXTerminal):
    inode/x-corrupted
    these folders cannot be accessed
    - i also tried to restart Ubuntu but it does not help

In these 3 folders, is the data lost? Or can I fix it?
What will happen if I open this USB stick on Windows?

    thank you

I would start by trying to format it in Windows. Format to NTFS so that it can be used on both OSs.
