    read only linux distro

    Hi
    is there a read only distro, alike booting from live cd but where I can install nvidia drivers etc.?

    I'm not aware of any Distro that is read only. What are you trying to do?
    Puppy will allow you to install your nvidia drivers. but It's not what I would call read only.

    Knoppix boots from dvd/usb and if you use an usb stick it makes a data partition where you can store persistent data like wifi connections. I'm not sure how it works with nvidia but it's worth a try.

    Silverblue is an immutable version of Fedora. It's great for security concerns. Here's an article on it.

    With Ubuntu you can install Guest User.
    When booted as guest user nothing is saved at end of session.
    The administrator may change settings and add programs to Guest User.
