    Post Keyboard works from boot; breaks on suspend/thaw or disconnect/reconnect

    I'm using a Dell Latitude 7212 Rugged Extreme Tablet that ships with a keyboard cover with an integrated touchpad that interfaces with the tablet via this port on the bottom that I couldn't identify.

    The keyboard and touchpad work perfectly until I either suspend/thaw the tablet or physically disconnect and reconnect the keyboard cover. In both cases, the keystrokes are completely ignored, yet the touchpad keeps functioning. On Win10, both suspend/thaw and disconnect/reconnect do not affect functionality of the keyboard cover.

    I'm running Bionic 18.04.

    Here is the dmesg entry for the keyboard:

    Code:
    [    6.803686] i8042: PNP: PS/2 Controller [PNP0303:PS2K,PNP0f13:PS2M] at 0x60,0x64 irq 1,12

    Here is the hwinfo entry for the keyboard; it is the same before and after reproducing the problem

    Code:
    user@bionic:~/Documents$ hwinfo --keyboard

    Attempted thus far:
    • Add
      Code:
      atkbd.reset=1 i8042.nomux=1 i8042.reset=1
      as kernel arguments
    • Install

    Please let me know how I can investigate further. Thank you!
