While working on setting up DNSCrypt using:

https://www.linuxuprising.com/2018/1...72874464930829

I do not know whether I can "safely" change my DNS to 127.0.2.1 because I have reverted my 18.04's GnomeDM to Unity. The reversion was due to Gnome breaking, et alia, the HP printer sub-system (panel icon), a password manager's panel icon config window, and some others.

I would like to know if I can follow the Debian style Network Manager changes to enable DNSCrypt in Ubuntu 18.04 or whether that's not a good idea. It looks as though the Debian Network Mgr. Uses DHCP Auto as default, while, my Unity does not show the Auto.

I'ld be grateful for some help.
