    I am hoping that the AMT2 will "just work" if kernel 4.20 ends up in Ubuntu 18.04 - because the patches that Google released were for kernel 4.20. otherwise, I am hoping something else turns up.

    how did you find libinput scroll methods available?

    I just upgraded to 20.04.1 LTS focal, linux 5.4.0-48-generic and Apple magic trackpad 2 works with two-finger scroll and tap to click (I can't be bothered to look up the precise definitions of these things).
