    Cameras

I have a Canon 5d mark 2 and a Sony a7 mark 2. Does umbuntu 18.10 support either one or both? Can I plug them to the USB ports and expect to transfer files from them?

    Re: Cameras

Depends. How are you saving the files: as RAW, jpeg, etc? I have a Nikon and a Kodak: both connect w/o any problems.

If you already have Ubuntu installed, try plugging them in: you should see an icon appear a few seconds after connecting them.

    Re: Cameras

There are some programs out there for converting RAW images in Ubuntu. Off hand, I am not familiar with them.

I just Googled "raw images in Linux" and got many pages full. You'll have to read through some of them to see if they are to your liking.

As far as the camera being read, I haven't come across one yet that hasn't been read by Linux. Connect the cable and see what happens.

Never used it, but looking at a screenshot it looks like there's a place to add custom folders in the top-left. Just add wherever your network drive is mounted to there.
