Linux Kernel 4.15 Reached End of Life, Users Urged to Move to Linux 4.16 Now

    https://news.softpedia.com/news/linu...w-520787.shtml

This news is from April 20, 2018.

Ubuntu has been offering 4.15.0x kernels in updates but since -33 came out I haven't been able to boot with any of them, maybe this is why.
Why is Ubuntu offering the 4.15 kernel when support for it stopped?

Anyone know when 4.16 is going to be offered by Ubuntu?

Good to know. I'm running Kubuntu 18.10 with 4.18.0-12-generic #13-Ubuntu so I should be good! Haven't rebooted in about a week.

The 4.15 kernel that went EOL is upstream, the 4.15 kernels used by Ubuntu are maintained by Ubuntu until 2023. The upstream kernel support and Ubuntu kernel support are two different things

The Linux 3.13 kernel went EOL in 2014, however Ubuntu's 3.13 kernel is still supported until April 2019
