18.04 MacBook Pro Broadcom no internet.

I have a MacBook Pro the firmware is Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0, ubuntu 18.04.
It says no wifi adapter found and I can't seem to connect via ethernet either (despite the internet working perfectly on the same machine when I'm not using VirtualBox).
I have read countless threads and have tried various options and I am no further forward. Most of the commands return error messages (that aren't shown in other threads), or the file can't be found. I am new to all of this and I'm now completely stuck, please help.

Let's start at the beginning. Please run and post:

lspci -nnk | grep 0280 -A3
dmesg | grep -e wl -e b43

Except for USB wireless, networking hardware on the host are not visible nor available on the guest. Please see:

Please re-read the information at the link I gave. The wireless device built in to your MacBook (the host) is not visible and not accessible in VirtualBox (the guest). You will not be able to connect using it; ever.
