The command you use in terminal isn't necessarily the name of the installed package.
Code:
glen@Bionic:~$ sudo apt install wine

Package wine is a virtual package provided by:
wine-stable 3.0-1ubuntu1
wine-development 3.6-1
You should explicitly select one to install.
You can search for packages installed via a deb or the software manager using a partial string.
Code:
apt list --installed | grep -i wine
eg after installing wine through the software centre.
(Notice the package you installed is signified by "[installed]" while packages installed as dependencies are signified by "[installed, automatic]")
Code:
glen@Bionic:~$ apt list --installed | grep -i wine
WARNING: apt does not have a stable CLI interface. Use with caution in scripts.

To remove (if you installed a deb the name may be winehq-stable)
Code:
sudo apt purge wine-stable
Then remove package dependencies no longer needed.
Code:
sudo apt autoremove
I don't use wine but apparently your windows apps are installed to ~/.wine which you can delete.
