    Question How safe is cryFS?

    Hi folks,
I am on Ubuntu 18.04 and I am planning to switch from encfs to an alternative program. I use it for encrypting directories, not whole partitions and I'm not in the cloud. cfyFS seems to be OK for me. However, it seems to be a newish product, so I was wondering if it is safe to use. Any advice or comments would be welcome.

    Re: How safe is cryFS?

Early adopters do a great service for everyone else who don't want to experience data loss. I didn't switch to EXT4 until it was mainstream over 5 years. I still won't use brtfs, but that is more about having better alternatives available, IMHO.

And definitely have automatic, daily, backups. If you don't, stick with well-tested file system tools. But really, have automatic, daily, backups. Always good advice for anyone using computers for important work.
