That was close.
Has anyone tried the R1 Beta 1 yet? Going to install it in a VM this weekend.

I've got an old (2003) Dell D800 32-bit Pentium-D notebook that Haiku R1B1 32-bit seems to work well on. I haven't tried out the 64-bit version - driver availability may be a issue with newer hardware.
Reminder: If you start a thread asking for help with a problem, please remember to use the Thread Tools to mark the issue as "SOLVED" once you have a solution. This will help other people with the same problem when they search for answers.
Installed it on a relatively weak laptop in a virtual machine with 1GB RAM and single-core x64 cpu.
And Haiku feels fast enough.
Of course it's still very far from being comfortable (a desktop-oriented OS has to be comfortable): immature web browser, unintuitive or uncomfortable window and app management, ugly looks (not just ascetic). Some hotkeys are unintuitive for users coming from windows or linux environments, Alt+A instead of Ctrl+A, for instance.
I think, a Haiku R1 "final" or maybe R2 beta should be pretty usable though, when released. At least in a virtual machine. Need to try on actual hardware to say more.
