Android Emulator / Running Android Apps

Good evening all,

So you have probably seen this question a thousand times yet I can't seem to find the definitive answer.

What is the best way to run android applications on a Ubuntu/xubuntu system? I've read a few posts regarding something called Anbox. Is this the preferred way to run android applications in a Ubuntu/Xubuntu install? Via the emulator called Anbox?

If not, is there another, better and more efficient way? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Well, an update on the above. I've installed and used Anbox and by god it's slow, buggy and a pain to use. So I'll be seeking alternative options. Anyone?
