on Ubuntu Xenial 16.04.5 LTS with Unity 7.4.5, on one user (#1002) when i open 2 gnome-terminal windows specified with geometries 82x46+0+0 and 82x46-0+0, the first goes onto the left side and the 2nd goes onto the right side, as expected and intended. but on a different user (#1010) doing exactly the same thing with a copy of the script, both windows open on the left side, with the 2nd one now overlapping the 1st one. they both open with the correct size (82x46 characters). what kind of difference can cause this? they both have the same .bashrc but i know Unity doesn't use that. does anyone know what Unity or Xwindows property or setting controls how geometry position windows?
