Copying files within SSD drive very slow

I'm creating new file inside my existing SSD 860 Evo, I'm trying to copy my video files to this new file, the copy speed is shockingly slow, the total size is 42.5 gig. Can any one explain how to speed this process up. I'm not the brightest lightbulb in Linux. THX.

Ubuntu 18.04, file system ext4, video file to new video file copy, .mod files. This just a straight "copy to" operation.
