    First Time

    Hi All,

I am REALLY new to Linux. I am trying to install in a PC and am getting an error when I boot from the IOS USB. It starts with not syncing: IO-APIC + timer doesn’t work! Boot with apic=debug and send a report......—-[ end Kernal panic - not syncing: IO-APIC + timer doesn’t work! Boot with apic=debug and send a report. Then try booting with the ‘noapic’ option,

I am very new and have no idea what that means or what I should do. Could someone one, please, lend a helping hand?

    Much Appreciated.

Information about your computer would be helpful. If you're attempting to dual boot please tell us with what operating system.

Also, how did you create the bootable USB and what .iso file did you use?

    Re: First Time

I used the most recent ios from the ubuntu website 3 days ago. I ended up figuring it was the fact that I have .5 GB of ram in that PC and tried another one that I had in the closet and it worked on that one. Thanks for the help.
