wine staging scrollbar bug

Hello! I'm having an issue running a certain program, BioEdit 7.0.5, with wine staging.
Specifically, the scrollbars doesn't show up, so I can't move properly inside the windows, look at the attached picture for reference.
I had been using wine stable before (3.0.3) and BioEdit showed no problems, until I needed to change wine's version to staging (to test games ). Then the scrollbars became "hollow" or transparent.
As far as I know, there is no difference between Windows versions or enabling CSMT, VAAPI and/or EAX.

Additional information:
Wine version: wine-3.18 (Staging)
Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS
I've modified the following in winetricks: installed corefonts and ie8 ("The installation doesn't support your architecture" error), yet the scrollbars remain glitched even without installing these two.
Video Card: VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Mullins [Radeon R4/R5 Graphics] (rev 45).

Running inside the terminal gives these errors:
