Xbox/PS gamepad on Ubuntu 18.04

Hello,
I've found some thread about Xbox game pad calibration, or other that are are pretty old.
I just would like to know if an Xbox gamepad can be used without any issue on Ubuntu. I think they are good gamepads and I want to buy one of them (maybe the Xbox 360 game pad which is cheaper).

anyone uses a Xbox controller in Ubuntu? Play Station controllers are good? cheaper/more expensive? Can they be used on a PC/Linux machine?

I bought a PS4 controller and it works very well on Ubuntu 18.04. I'm playing Tomb Raider with no problems at all. I can also use the controller's touchpad to move the mouse arrow

Its the same situation with the xbox one s controller. Even if you have bluetooth, you can install xpadneo and play wirelessly.
