cant post

I successfully log in with SSO.
I go to the general help and create a new thread
at the bottom of the form it CLEARLY shows I have posting permission.
When I try to submit or preview I get the fatal page that states:
I dont have permission to submit a new thread
or
I dont have permission to preview post

I have logged out and it reports the cookies are cleared.
Logging back in does not help at all. I continue to get denied preview or posting.

this is repeatable

what is wrong?

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bit with firefox 61.0.1 64bit

You are able to post here, so I don't think you have an overall permissions problem.

Would you please try again and report back here with the exact message and the time (UTC would be best) when the problem occurred?

Also, are you trying to post a particularly lengthy amount of text?

my repeat attempt failed as expected. it was done at 17 Aug 22:33:36 MDT or 18 Aug 04:33:36 UTC and 22:33:48 MDT or 18 Aug 04:33:48 UTC (give or take a few seconds)
I took screen shots but I cant seem to find a way to attach them for you....

What is strange is while I have THIS post open to edit it I in another browser tab went to the General Help and selected create a thread. Typed the same subject, entered the word test in the body, did NOT check the email option at the bottom and hit the submit.... In order to get the failure page so I could copy the text (instead of the screen shots I took and couldnt attach). BANG- this posted!

So, I will transcribe the text from the error page from my screenshot....

You can't delete threads, so I removed it from public view.

OK. We'll have to mull this a bit. It's late for me, so I may not get back to it. One of the other Admins should be able to help you.

I can find nothing in your user record that would indicate that you cannot post.

Would you please try to post in The Cafe with some innocuous post about something of interest to you that might generate an interesting discussion -- that will keep the other moderators from removing it as pointless and give us a chance to experiment.

Well, I just posted something in The Cafe and it posted just fine.

So, I'm going back to attempt another time to post the important problem about cron. I will do the same thing I have tried multiple times and report back here.
