Generic Icons in Lubuntu Minimal install from mini.iso

I just installed Lubuntu Minimal 18.04 from mini.iso. Most of the icons in the taskbars of the desktop and applications are a generic sheet of paper. Does anyone know how to change this without going and changing each individual icon? Is it because of the type of install? Is there a package I need that will do this?

    Thanks!

I often find a different icon theme is more to my liking. An icon theme is set in "Customized Look and Feel" dialog and changes all icons to those of the theme. The default offerings there may be limited, so also look at icon themes at gnome-look.org which you might want to download.

Thanks Dennis. I am having difficulty balancing between things turning into sheets of paper or the volume icon disappearing into the background. I am thinking it is just trial and error. I am surprised that it appears the default coloring is a black volume icon on a black background. Do you have any other thoughts or suggestions? If not, I will mark this solved. Thanks!
