Ubuntu <-> Android integration

Hi,

It would be great to have a list of features (compared to iPhone) of the way Ubuntu can work with Android phone like MacOS with iOS so that the ecosystem might become full alternative as a whole.

Look into KDEconnect. It requires you to install KDEconnect on your Android device too but that is easy enough since it is in Google Play.

Features of KDEconnect, as listed in the Google Play app:
- Shared clipboard: copy and paste between your devices.
- Share files and URLs to your computer from any app, without wires.
- Virtual touchpad: Use your phone screen as your computer's touchpad.
- Notifications sync: Read your Android notifications from the desktop.
- Multimedia remote control: Use your phone as a remote for Linux media players.
- WiFi connection: no USB wire or bluetooth needed.
- End-to-end TLS encryption: your information is safe.

Don't worry about installing KDE apps on a Gnome (like Ubuntu) installation. If it is that much of an issue, there is Mconnect GNOME extension that integrates only the indicators with Gnome but still requires KDEconnect to be installed.

KDEconnect actually connects over wifi, so both devices have to be on the same network. A bluetooth version is in the works.

Did not Ubuntu have their own phone? Whatever happened to it? I do not remember ever seeing it for sale in the USA.
