Linux Mint 19 (Tara) - X-Manager restart after each successful login

Hi Guys,

today I upgraded my Virtual-Box VM - Linux Mint 18.3 - to version 19 (Tara/Bionic) with an full-distupgrade.
During upgrade I got no issues and finally I was able to login on X-Manager.
The screen keeps black for 10s and then the X-Session restarts.

In meanwhile I tried to remove / re-install the virtualbox-guest stuff, still the same result.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mint developer Clem said in his blog post of June 4 that:

It will also be possible to upgrade from Linux Mint 18.3. Upgrade instructions will be published after the stable release of Linux Mint 19.

There may be information in his upcoming instructions that is relevant to doing an in-place upgrade successfully. The stable release is still not out.
