Unhappy Wifi not working, wl module doesn't exist

I just update my laptop as usual and after reboot the Wi-Fi disappeared, I've followed anything I found in this forum and Google, but nothing fix the problem, the most similar case is the one here, but any solution given there worked for me.

    My system wireless info.

    Code:
    sudo lshw -class network
    shows this:

Also, it's shown as if succesfully installed, but the wireless continue as before.

I'm a newbie programming, I just migrated from Windows because I feel better with Ubuntu, I can follow instructions and run commands, but I have no idea about the results the terminal is showing me when it comes to an error.

    Thanks for any help

Re: Wifi not working, wl module doesn't exist

    You have:
    Version: 6.30.223.271+bdcom-0ubuntu1~1.2
On my 4.15.0-xx system, I have:
    6.30.223.271+bdcom-0ubuntu4
    Please try:
    Code:
    sudo apt update
    sudo apt purge bcmwl-kernel-source
    sudo apt install bcmwl-kernel-source
Let's see if you get the later, working package.

Re: Wifi not working, wl module doesn't exist

Hi!!! I've tried the code you suggested, but it continue to get the old package, so i did a quick research and found the most recent package is
    Code:
    6.30.223.271+bdcom-0ubuntu8
so I downloaded if and installed it manually, but didn't work.

I went over to the version you had:
    Code:
    6.30.223.271+bdcom-0ubuntu4
and tried with that package and finally terminal showed me something different:

When you installed 0ubuntu8 manually and it didn't work, did you purge it? What does this tell us?
    Code:
    sudo dkms status
    cat /var/lib/dkms/bcmwl/6.30.223.271+bdcom/4.15.0-24-generic/x86_64/log/make.log

Yes, I did, the installation progress was the same as the oldest package, so I didn't even verified the log.

In both cases, by "...the same problem..." do you mean the essential error:
    symbolmap: la: invalid section
In all three cases, if you boot into an earlier kernel version at the GRUB menu, such as 4.15.0-23, does the package install and work as expected?

It installs without error for me on 4.15.0-23. I haven't a Broadcom device, so I can't test further.
