Razer Basilisk mouse - scroll wheel not working

This morning my Razer Basilisk mouse arrived and I've plugged it in to my XPS 13 running Ubuntu 18.04. The left/right/back/forward buttons all work. The scroll wheel - used to scroll or to click as a middle click - isn't being picked up at all.

I don't know what to post to help get this resolved - I don't know if it's a broken mouse I've received (as I can't see anyone else with this issue) or whether it's just not compatible with linux and people don't buy it knowing this to be the case.

Anything I can post to help resolve this issue, just ask and I'll get the details up here.

    Thanks in advance.

Boot to a live version of your *ubuntu installation using the USB you used to install it and see if the mouse wheel scroll action works there.
That should tell you something useful about whether it is the mouse or your OS causing this problem.

Assuming this is a USB mouse, have you tried to unplug and replugging the mouse?

Nothing beats a Logitech mouse, wired or wireless.
