    Question Changing GPU fan speed

Hi i wanna ask how to change the speed of gpu fans i tried
    cd /etc/X11
    sudo nvidia-xconfig --enable-all-gpus
    nvidia-xconfig --cool-bits=4
    reboot
but after reset i got weird resolution someting like 960x540 but after deleting the xorg.cfg and reboot i got my native resolution
is there some way i can get the control panel work? THX all (drivers nvidia 390 ,gpu gtx 570)

    Re: Changing GPU fan speed

Is there a specific reason why you want to change the fan speed? I have 2 different Nvidia cards in 2 different machines and they and their fans function normally. Both fans run at about 20% speed when doing normal stuff, but when pushed by gaming, the fan speed ramps up and keeps the temp down.

    Re: Changing GPU fan speed

Where/what is telling you that the temp is 90 degrees C? I find it hard to believe that the card would live any longer at that temp.

    Re: Changing GPU fan speed

Well then. If Nvidia says it is good to 97C and you are running at 90C, I would say that it is working just fine. I wouldn't expect the fan to run any higher since it is already keeping it below the threshold.
