    Canon Pixma TS5120 install help

This is a network attached printer but there was no discovered driver for it, so I chose the "generic" driver recommended. However, doesn't print yet. Maybe I need to do system restart?

However, I'd prefer to use specific drivers for it.
The canon website does have a driver for Linux which I downloaded, supplied as a tar.gz file. I always seem to trip up on installing from tar b/c I do it infrequently.
I've extracted the file and cd to the folder with the driver. It is an .rpm file within Packages, a subfolder of the extracted file.
However, no luck with ./configure (just says no such file or directory). So I'm not sure what my problem is at this point.
    thanks for any assistance.

So, I've had partial success. I installed the .rpm packaged driver via Alien.
However, still not printing. I can see Test page is in the print queue but Status is "Stopped".
Looking like I'm closer but not quite successful yet.
