Hi,
so I am trying to download ubuntu on my virtualbox but I get this error Spectre V2 mitigation: LFENCE not serializing. Switching to gener 00:00:26.433918 ic retpoline. I have no idea what this means. I am a complete novice as I am trying to download this to use ROS.

ROS, LFENCE - turkish to me. Are you sure you don't use out-of-date virtualbox version? If not, try to do the same for 16.04 instead
