Black Screen Ubuntu 17.10 Real VNC

Hi I keep getting black screen when logging into Ubuntu desktop 17.10 via VNC.

I am running Real VNC on Ubuntu desktop.
I start vnc by running "vncserver -x11" on command line.
I get a black screen from both android real vnc clients and windows clients.

I've tried restarting etc.
Also gave up trying to use the native vino desktop share as wouldn't work.

Anyone have ideas what could cause this ?

What are the hardware specs of your host machine? Especially the video card.
This symptom is very likely caused by video driver.
