    Virtual Desktops in Manjaro

    Hello,

I have set up four desktops and want to use them independently. There is no facility for separate icons on each dektop. How can I separate my work to each appropriate desktop. I may want webmailers on one desktop and social media discussions on another, to give just two examples.

    Thanks

Can you offer us a little more information as to what Desktop environment you are using. I'm guessing maybe KDE.

For Most It is important is to have easy shortcuts to swith between them.

alt-1 through 4 to switch to a given desktop.
ctrl-alt1 through 4 to move the active window to that desktop.

that makes sorting windows almost painless.

    Yes, Plasma under KDE

But how can I use the individual desktops for different activities (different icons and using different application: independent environments)

Note that there is no facility when setting up the virtual desktops for separate icons on each desktop

Wow just Wow, I had seen your post's on thier forums (Manjaro) which I won't point to here.
Sometimes Arch user's will lead with a backhand instead of a helping hand, I'm glad UF is different in that regard, very glad infact.
But I confess that not being a KDE user myself and using it only sparingly in different releases, but I do remember on KDE 4.13.3, you right click on the window title bar and select More Actions ->> Special Application Settings. This will open up a dialog with the tab "Size & Position". There will be a check box "Activity" with options to restrict the window to an activity.
Other than that my friend I'm going to have to defer to someone wiser on KDE.
Maybe this is the place here to get you your answer: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=139142
Sorry I could not be of more help to you.
