I know I saw somewhere online about adding a few rules to the firewall to get Chromecast to work on Ubuntu but I don't remember where I saw it @. Can you guys help me find it & help me get my Chromecast to work please?

I doubt you need any firewall rules, unless your existing firewall rules prevent a connection.
I recommend to go offline from the internet while still being online in your local network and flush all firewall rules to see if it then works.
By the way, we have Linux here. If you don't start any services on your computer you don't need a firewall at all. Even if you use some services for local purpose they can often be bound to localhost and won't listen to the outside world.

I have a Chromecast and am casting a Netflix program in the Google Chrome web browser., using my Dell laptop in my sigline, which runs ubuntu. I didn't need to do any custom configuring, casting works out of the box.
