Don't know how to install mednafen and mupen64

there is no install option in software center, could only find both as tar.gz how do i install them and is there a ppa/apt-get link for either? i am on 16.04

If it is not already installed while the software centre is open install 'Synaptic Package Manager', the two apps you are after are in the repos.

Another way is in the terminal.

sudo apt install mednafen mupen64plus

I was able to install it through another app, but it was difficult. i have heard installing things is easier through synaptic package manager, but my ubuntu computer does not have synaptic. where do i install it?
