I've got a SSD with Ubuntu 18.04 installed on it currently. I have another drive in another computer that I plan to put into this one.Is there a way, without totally formatting the current drive, to get Windows 10 installed on that and to dual boot?

you can disconnect your ubuntu drive then install windows on the other drive, you should then be able to use the bios to select what you would like to boot.
If you have a UEFI computer, after you get Windows installed and configured you can boot back into Ubuntu using the BIOS/EFI setup and install rEFInd into Ubuntu. rEFInd will give you a boot menu and it's faster and easier than going into setup on every boot. I've been using it for three or four years and it's proven effective and problem free. Plus, the developer answers his e-mail if you have questions.

Thanks, I'll look into these.

i didn't mean go into bios on every boot, i meant using the selection key f2, f9, f12, whatever it is on your device. it usually says when you start up the computer.
example: on mine f2 is for bios & f12 is the boot menu.
