Anyone else playing this addictive game? It has a nostalgic look to it that reminds me of Starflight and Star Control.

It seems to have a sizeable following and is under active development, yet online information about the game elements is sparse. No good wikia (only a bare bones one) and just a few rudimentary and dated play guides available - the game has been updated more than once since many of the guides were written. A shame, because this game is really big/rich, and it could benefit from better documentation.

BTW, the version in the Ubuntu Software Center is grossly outdated - download the newest version via Synaptic.

I thought I had, after 10 years of downloading every good game in the repos, that I'd tried everything available.

One thing that got me hooked on this game is how easy it is to edit the save file.

I cheat at games. Period. But, I use a limited cheat of money only - no "god mode" or other cheats. I just give myself endless money.

Reason : games should not feel like work. Running missions over and over and over just to buy a minor upgrade in the game is not fun. I have always despised the resource-farming part of games. I just want to jump in, explore, and have fun. If I want to work, I will go to a real job and get paid for it. LOL.

But anyway, with an endless stream of cash, this game is really fun.
