Was wondering if someone could help me with MPV options. What I need is as follows:
Automatic episode detection so i can click next and go to the next episode
High quality playback
Automatic save position on exit.

Use Smplayer as a front end to mpv, you'll get all the options . mpv has many obscure command line options, but I don't like watching videos like I am programing and with a keyboard, it may be just me.

get the up to date version of smplayer here. then it should detect mpv and use it as the backend

Another vote for smplayer.

If you highlight all the episodes using a file browser like Nautilus or Dolphin, you can right-click and choose "Enqueue in SMPlayer" to build a playlist that will let you navigate through the episodes. You can save the playlist for future use as well. SMPlayer remembers where you are in every video you watch, too.
