How many Linux/Ubuntu OSs do you use?

One amd64 ubuntu 16.04 on my desktop.
The rest, including VMs and virtualization hosts:
Maybe 4 or 5 active *buntu systems with desktop installed at work, more of occasional or non-active.
Something like 50-60 active Ubuntu Server systems in production, don't have an exact count.
Perhaps 30 or so Ubuntu Server systems for testing and development tasks.

Non-*buntu:
Maybe 5 Gentoo systems
2 CentOS
3 Raspbian on raspberry pi for things like stratum 1 time servers and dhcp/dns in small offices.
7 special-purpose distros for routing and IDS/IPS
2 Oracle Linux
1 Suse
? Surely there are some other random distros represented for special-purpose apps that only really work on one distro, or are only supported for one distro.

For the past 5 years or so I have only used Ubuntu (Lubuntu and Xubuntu too).
Right now, Ubuntu 18.04, 17.10 and 16.04 lts on the server. In the past I have had
Ubuntu (from 7.04). Always Ubuntu on my main box.

Xubuntu
Ubuntu minimal (w openbox)

Arch
Debian
Slackware
Suse
Fedora
Puppy
Elementary.......

.....and Gentoo for a few days but it was too hard, couldn't be bothered.

I guess the moral of my linux story is that Ubuntu is just easier.

Just one. When I had too much time and nothing better to do I dualbooted or triple booted, but now one is enough, Ubuntu does the job, so that's it. I use the same OS (Ubuntu 16.04) on two machines, easier to maintain. Also I don't see the point of having several flavours of *buntu and/or Mint on the same machine in a multiboot setup. They are basically the same thing. On my dualboot days I would do something more different like Fedora or Arch.

This is kinda one of the reasons why I asked. As a relative newbie, at the moment I tend to switch between different flavours simply because they look different and feel / tweak differently. However, as a newbie I'm also reluctant to end up working on too many different distros.

I'm also thinking that in some ways working with a couple of slightly different OSs will help make me more proficient with Ubuntu / Linux distros in general. For while they are all vary slightly in their own way, there certainly appears to be plenty of cross-over when operating them - or at least the ones I've settled on for now anyway

Currently: Debian, Arch, Antergos, Kubuntu, BunsenLabs, SalentOS. And I keep MX and GParted Live on flash drives for live sessions.

Not at all. I'm a programmer who sidelines as my company's IT guy. Any serious IT guy with a mid-sized company will have many more boxes than this, and will be better at managing them.

Re: Multiboot. Don't. Install KVM, QEMU or VirtualBox and use VMs for other systems you want to try out.

Multiboot guarantees that you never have access to all of your installed functionality. Virtualization on the other hand allows you to have access to anything installed, either temporarily (VirtualBox) or full-time (KVM/QEMU).

Have used many different Distros over the years since 1995 But Debian based seem to be the ones I come back to eventually.
