System 76 Infrequent Updates

I have three computers, two running vanilla Ubuntu 17.10 and one running Pop 17.10. I get multiple security updates a day on the vanilla systems but barely one a week on the Pop system. Missing security updates makes me feel insecure. Could someone explain how I can configure the Pop! 17.10 system to apply the same updates.

Multiple updates on what packages? My understanding is that in system 76 computers you get the system 76 updates IN ADDITION TO normal Ubuntu updates so you get more, not less updates.

I am concerned because over the past month I have been prompted on at least two occasions to replace the kernel, which required providing my password for authorization and a reboot. I have not been prompted even once over that period by Pop OS even though Pop OS should be using the same base code as Ubuntu 17.10.

On Pop OS:
$ uname -r
4.13.0-37-generic

On Ubuntu 17.10:
$ uname -r
4.13.0-38-generic

try version 18, it seemed a lot better even tough its not released yet.

If I have to move to 18.04 I might as well move to Ubuntu 18.04 which is in stable release tomorrow, Apr 26, rather than continue with Pop76. Having one out of four systems with a slightly different UI is not worth the trouble.
