Why not just leave your credit cards and cash in a shoebox on the front steps?

Please log on to the administration pages of the router and change the encryption to WPA2-AES, sometimes known as CCMP, and please do it immediately. This is a huge security risk on many levels.

Re: AC600 usb wifi adapter 17.10 need help -wireless script pastebin inc...

Sharshar is my home network, but lacks 5Ghz,, I connect to the xfinitywifi network sometimes when home is slow and if in Windows I can use the AC band of the adapter that we've been working on. In windows, xfinity provides a secure profile to connect thru as well as android and ios. I've tried to emulate android here in ubuntu in order to create a secure connection in a few ways such as the defunct RemixOS and some phone emulators but have pretty much failed for different reasons. Any advice on how to protect my computer if I want to connect to the open xfinitywifi hotspots,? VPN perhaps but what ab from within Ubu? Where I just moved from had ssid:XFINITY in the city that were fast, secure and free which fits nicely with my disability income.
Good looking out though, it's appreciated.

Exactly as I expected; WPA and WPA2 mixed mode and TKIP.

Please check the settings in the router. WPA2-AES is preferred; not any WPA and WPA2 mixed mode and certainly not TKIP. Second, if your router is capable of N speeds, you may have better connectivity with a channel width of 20 MHz in the 2.4 GHz band instead of automatic 20/40 MHz, although it is likely to affect N speeds. I also have better luck with a fixed channel, either 1, 6 or 11, rather than automatic channel selection. Also, be certain the router is not set to use N speeds only; auto B, G and N is preferred. After making these changes, reboot the router.

Thank you. Speeds are better after applying much of what I've learned from the help I've gotten here.. I've applied the driver from Artful and Here's where I'm at..

The connection speed is limited partially by the driver and partially by the physical device itself and, especially the size and number of antennae.

Your readings look very fine to me. Post back if we can help you further.
