    No internet on Ubuntu 17.10

    Hi,

I just did a clean install of Ubuntu 17.10 and I can't manage to get internet access, be it over WiFi, Ethernet, Bluetooth or USB tether.

I"m fairly new to Linux but I managed to run the wireless script and got this as a result

    https://pastebin.ubuntu.com/p/VHFWV8dtbH/

I would very much appreciate your help and will try to complement this post as needed
    I also tried reinstalling

    IP4.ADDRESS[1]: 192.168.2.9/24
    IP4.GATEWAY: 192.168.2.1
    IP4.ROUTE[1]: dst = 169.254.0.0/16, nh = 0.0.0.0, mt = 1000
    IP4.DNS[1]: 10.221.10.18
    IP4.DNS[2]: 10.221.9.26
    IP4.DNS[3]: 192.168.0.1
I'm not sure I understand that at all. What do these terminal commands tell us?
    Code:
    route -n
    ping -c3 192.168.2.1
    ping -c3 8.8.8.8
Do other devices on the same network, phones, pods, pads, etc., connect correctly?

How about the results of the terminal commands?

The program 'route' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
    sudo apt install net-tools
I think I might be doing something wrong but here is the terminal output

Re: No internet on Ubuntu 17.10

    klaus@Klinux:~$ route -n
The program 'route' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
    sudo apt install net-tools
    Very strange.

    Please do:
    Code:
    sudo dpkg-reconfigure resolvconf
Say yes to "prepare /etc/resolve.conf for dynamic updates?" and reboot.

    Now try:
    Code:
    ping -c3 8.8.8.8
    ping -c3 www.ubuntu.com
    Any improvement?

I hope we don't find that the missing net-tools is the real problem!

    well...

    Code:
    klaus@Klinux:~$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure resolvconf[sudo] password for klaus:
    Sorry, try again.

dpkg-query: package 'resolvconf' is not installed and no information is available
Use dpkg --info (= dpkg-deb --info) to examine archive files,

    /usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: resolvconf is not installed

resolvcong and net-tools missing? I wonder how much else is wrong. I suggest that you download a fresh new copy of 17.10 and reinstall. https://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/1710

I honestly feel that it would take longer and be more difficult to repair this than to start new.

I doubt it. I think the .iso that you originally downloaded was corrupt. The fact that the problem remains after you reinstalled seems to confirm it. That's why I suggested that you download a completely new fresh copy. http://mirror.pnl.gov/releases/17.10/

Notice that md5sums, sha256sums, etc. are available to verify the integrity of the download. I don't know much about Windows 10 so I can't tell you how to accomplish this in Windows.
