    FN Brightness Keys display

While my indicator for keyboard shortcuts works, the brightness does not actually change nor can I change it in settings. In settings I just the brightness but nothing actually happens. I can change it with xbacklight in command line but this is not practical and a deal breaker. Please help. I have updated and reinstalled drivers. Updated bios and messed with tons of config files. I am loosing my mind trying to figure this out.

    Re: FN Brightness Keys display

if xbacklight works a workarround could be to program for example win key plus the F keys as "xbacklight increase or decrease".

i have it like that since one of the kernels turned off some of the the FN keys, so i just made win key+F key do the job.
Read the easy to understand, lots of pics Ubuntu manual.
Do i need antivirus/firewall in linux?
Full disk backup (newer kernel -> suitable for newer PC): Clonezilla
User friendly full disk backup: Rescuezilla
