Dearest comrades, I have been using Skype for a few months, basically since I got Linux Ubuntu. Last night, I open up skype to make a call but it doesn't work. Skype starts up and the screen just says "This version is no longer supported". I figured it needed to be updated but saw no pending skype updates on the Ubuntu Software app, so I uninstalled it and was thinking to just reinstall. I cannot find skype anywhere now. Ubuntu software just shows an app called spreedme when I search for skype. Further, I tried installing Skype through the method as posted on here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Skype, but that also did not work, as the terminal said it could not locate the right files. Is there a way for me to be able to download Skype again, or should I just install Ekiga or Twinkle? Thank you for your time.
You need to get it straight from skype.com. Select the Linux DEB option and then double-click on the downloaded .deb file.
