Three weeks ago I upgraded Ubuntu 16.04 to 17.10 and system response was fast and smooth.
However, a couple of days ago I noticed that content inside newly opened windows took several
seconds to load, for instance:
- mpv hangs when opening a video. It hang again the first time I try to seek inside such video.
- The applications menu takes a couple of seconds to show.
- In firefox, whenever I open a link in a new tab, suck tab start completely empty; only two or
three seconds after that, appears the "loading" animation; content takes, at least, another two or three seconds
to load. Freshly updated Firefox Quantum was way faster.
I was having "nautilus-desktop" errors since Ubuntu upgrade, but they haven't had an impact in system
performance till now. I don't know if they are related at all.
How can I find the cause and fix it?
