Hi, everyone.
I'm stuck with this.
Well, this old netbook...with 2 OS installed: Windows 7 & Linux Mint.
One day, windows failed to boot. I tried everything, and nothing worked. So I tried to save some things there with Linux,
then suddenly:
error: hd0 read error
grub rescue-
I use live-usb-install, with an ubuntu 10.04
Problems with NTFS, so I format the USB in FAT32.
Running ubuntu from my USB give me access to some part of the netbook (a data folder) but I don't have access to windows.
Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 13:
ntfs_attr_pread failed: Input/output error
Failed to read NTFS $Bitmap: Input/output error
NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware fault, or it's a
SoftRAID/FakeRAID hardware. In the first case runchkdsk /f on Windows
then reboot into Windows twice. The usage of the /f parameter is very
important! If the device is a SoftRAID/FakeRAID then first activate
it and mount a different device under the /dev/mapper/ directory, (e.g.
/dev/mapper/nvidia_eahaabcc1). Please see the 'dmraid' documentation
for more details.
Tried a few guides...using sudo ntfsfix /dev/sXXX, but doesn't work.
Any help will be -really- appreciated.
PS Sorry for the grammar -_-
