Has anyone tried out the HP Omen with the AMD GPU?

Hello. I have been having some issues with my nvidia laptop, and am slightly considering getting the listed computer as a trade-in.
    Here is the link: http://store.hp.com/us/en/ConfigureV...151&quantity=1

The problem is, I can't seem to find any reviews on this particular model, and HP's site has none either. I was also unable to find a manual or service guide for this one, or seemingly any model I can recognize (the model codes are different in Support, and seem to be for older PCs).

So, how does the GPU work out? (My desktop has an AMD R9360 GPU, which has been working great with the Radeon drivers since purchase. This is my goal with the laptop, as I dislike proprietary drivers and software due in part due to a crash course (literally, and often) in college.)

Of course, I also would like to know battery life metrics (How easy it is to drop the battery life to 2-3 hours rather than the (I'm guessing here since HP won't say) 6-8 hours I assume it normally has, what the maximum is, etc).

Primary use will be word processing and web browsing, but video editing, Freecad CAD modeling, and gaming may also be involved. I also want to learn LMMS...

I also notice that the WiFi module has caused people issues in the past. Is this still the case, or is there one listed that plays better with Linux? Please detail whether it works out-of-box or whether it requires a kernel blacklist (the solution I heard) or proprietary drivers or config tinkering.
Almost finally, is the RAM swappable? I would rather buy the 8GB and add another 8 later, but I can't find out if it actually is soldered on or not.

Lastly, what battery is that using? Internal or detachable?

TL;DR: I can't find reviews on it and would like to know if the hardware works with the open source drivers out of the box (GPU and WiFi, add others if you had issues). I also want to know what components may be user-modified or replaced without needing a new motherboard (RAM especially).

For the last, photos of the internals would be great if you had a reason to open one up.

Re: Has anyone tried out the HP Omen with the AMD GPU?

Thank, but I am still looking for a few things. The battery life info from the Windows tests are worrisome. Would it work better or worse with Linux?

I also do not know if the AMD version linked is the same base model, since all they list is 15t, and there are quite a few of those.
Since the WiFi card is not listed there, only that you can get unnamed version vs. Intel (for an extra $20), is that still the 7260, and do those work better out-of-the-box now? (Do I still need to blacklist the ...Asus, I think... drivers?)

Neither list if the RAM can be upgraded later, as well, and I am still lacking info on that GPU. I have been having weirder and weirder issues with Nvidia, so while I have had better luck with AMD, I do like to think that hardware can be infinite in its weirdness. Would you know if the AMD card feeds everything, or if there's some sort of odd hybrid graphics where the card can be switched on or off? (I hope not, since that complicates things, yet it could also give better battery life...) If it is switchable, what card is default, and what is the trigger for switching?
